Blog tour: Brightest kind of Darkness - Review

BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS, BOOK 1

Nara Collins is an average sixteen-year-old, with one exception: every night she dreams the events of the following day. Due to an incident in her past, Nara avoids using her special gift to change fate…until she dreams a future she can’t ignore.

After Nara prevents a bombing at Blue Ridge High, her ability to see the future starts to fade, while people at school are suddenly being injured at an unusually high rate.

Grappling with her diminishing powers and the need to prevent another disaster, Nara meets Ethan Harris, a mysterious loner who seems to understand her better than anyone. Ethan and Nara forge an irresistible connection, but as their relationship heats up, so do her questions about his dark past.

Why BKoD?

I loved the topic. I absolutely love this theme - collision between man and fate. And I had chance to read it. So I did.

Something about cover

This book has only one cover, british. This cover is adorable. I love that. Girl in dress goes perfectly with forest. And the ravens.. fantastic.

Inara Collins is average, 16 years old girl, with little secret. Since her childhood she has every day strange dreams. She sees what happens next day. She doesnť mind dreaming about it, it is her "real her". She ist trying to change what will happen because she tried, once. And there were catastrophic consequences. You can't beat fate. Nara is quite famous at school - she doesn't have to study because of her dreams, she is star goalie in school football team. But it changes all one day - after scary dream about bombing at school, Nara is going to change fate - so she call the police about bombing.

They really find bomb at school. Nara saves some students who could be dead after bombing. It should be Laney, Nara's best friend. Nara is happy and she hopes nothing won't change. But it is not true. After bombing her dreams disappear. Nara is desperate. In this desperate situation she finds Ethan, lonely boy who is new at school, because of beating up guys from last school. Nara knows there is some connecting between her and Ethan. He might be clue for her problem. But there are also other problems in Nara's life. Her mum recoverd from break-up with Nara's father who left them when Nara was child. Nara just find out that her father wants to speak with her. But she doesn't want to. Nara has only Ethan and her Aunt who knows about her ability to see future. Lainey is dating another guy and doesn't have time for Nara. There is only thing Nara can do - trust Ethan.

Nara should be careful - shadows comes back and they have only one goal - hurt her. There are also bigger and bigger amount of accidents at school. It is not normal. There is only one answer - Fate wants to match the score and show Nara what she did after calling about bombing. The girl will have to be brave and confront Fate with Ethan on her side.

The topic of story was really good idea. Thank you, Patrice. I love the theme about fate who goes after somebody. I haven't heard about books with this theme yet. It is Young adult fantasy, but it doesn't mind at all. I am not native english speaker, but I have no problem with reading this book. I read it really fast. But after all I think BKoD is really relaxing book. I know, there is action and so on, but I relaxed during reading and I enjoyed it. There is big amount of romantic scenes between Nara and Ethan. It was SOO romantic.

Let's talk about characters. I liked Nara. I haven't agree with her in some situations, but who cares? I loved when she was protecting her mother. She risked a lot for her. I think Ethan is ok either. And other characters? I haven't noticed because I was just curious about Ethan and Nara. Sorry, guys :D But Lane, you are my girl.

Brightest kind of Darkness  is exactly book you need to read. If you want to read relaxing story with good romantic scenes, action and angry fate - this is your jam, guys! And there is also another part - Lucid!
